DOES COSMETIC TATTOOING HURT?
A topical anesthetic cream and gel are used during your procedure. Pain levels vary from person to person and every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable during the procedure. Having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during your procedure. Also, if you are a frequent smoker, the topical anesthetics used during the treatment will not last as long. If you are worried about pain, please take a tylenol before your appointment, but please no advil as it can thin the blood.
CAN I GET TATTOOED WHILE I’M PREGNANT?
Although microblading is a safe and low risk procedure, for your own safety and peace of mind, Linda will not tattoo any clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you discover you are pregnant and have an appointment scheduled, please notify us so we can reschedule and make future arrangements.
CAN I GET A COSMETIC TATTOO IF I AM ON ACCUTANE?
We will not tattoo anyone who is on Accutane, as the medication places you at risk for hypersensitivity, scarring and hyperpigmentation. Your skin needs 12 months to normalize prior to getting a cosmetic tattoo.
CAN I GET A COSMTETIC TATTOO IF I JUST HAD CHEMO?
A duration of 6 months must pass from the last day of treatment before any procedure can be carried out.
DO YOU OFFER TOUCH-UP PRICING ON OTHER ARTISTS WORK?
All new clients are considered new brows due to the fact that every artist has their own style of tattooing, which can make it extremely difficult to cover. If the previous tattoo is done unevenly, or the color has changed to an undesirable one, the process of covering up is almost always more work than a client with virgin eyebrows. All potential clients that have had previous work done must submit photos via email or text before booking an appointment.
WHAT CAN COSMETIC TATTOOING DO FOR MY EYEBROWS?
Whether your brows are sparse and uneven, or you’re looking for a low-maintenance, polished appearance, cosmetic tattooing can enhance your current arches. The benefits of cosmetic tattooing include:
• The look of full and even brows
• Sweat and waterproof
• Camouflages sparse areas for a natural look
• Hides scars Semi-permanent, which allows adjustment to your brow shape as you age or as beauty trends change
DO YOU SHAVE THE EYEBROW HAIRS?
NEVER! only the hairs outside of the eyebrow design are removed. The goal is to keep as much natural hair as possible.
HOW LONG DOES THE TATTOO LAST?
Cosmetic tattooing procedure outcomes are considered semi-permanent and will fade over time. They may need to be refreshed every year, otherwise they will fade after 1-2 years. Frequency of sessions depends on a number of factors including the color pigment used (lighter colors fade faster), lifestyle (sun exposure), and if any form of exfoliations come into contact with the treated area. If you have oily skin or want a longer lasting result, a powder variation would be a better option for you. Please visit the explanation of the different styles to see how long each style will last. *Please note that final results cannot be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates. You may book a touch up session 6-8 weeks after the initial appointment to fill in any areas that have faded after the healing process.
WHAT FACTORS WILL AFFECT MY TATTOO?
● Sun Exposure: The sun will soften the look of your tattoo. Once healed, sunblock SPF 50 should be applied daily to prevent brows from fading as quickly.
● The regeneration of skin cells: The longer the regeneration takes, the longer the pigment holds.
● The speed at which the skin absorbs the pigment: The slower the absorption, the longer the pigment will hold. This depends on the thickness level of the skin.
● The choice of color: The choice of lighter pigments will fade much quicker than dark pigments.
● Bleeding during the procedure: Bleeding will reduce the pigment absorption as blood will push out the colours. Consuming alcohol and certain medications act as blood-thinners and should not be taken at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.
WHAT WILL MY BROWS LOOK LIKE AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
Your brows will appear much darker for the first 3-5 days. This will gradually lighten during the healing process. Redness and swelling may also occur.
AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR COSMETIC TATTOOING?
● If you have extremely oily skin, microblading may not work as well for you. Any powder style will be more optimal. The constant production of oil will cause the hair strokes to heal with a diffused, softer look. Your end result will appear more powdered than you would expect instead of crisp lines.
● If you have little to no existing hair, your tattoo will appear more 2-dimensional than those clients who have more hair naturally. If you already have some hair to work with, your brows will appear more 3D.
● If you are a frequent smoker, your pigment may fade sooner.
● If you are iron deficient or anemic, your pigment may fade sooner and bleeding/bruising may occur during and after the procedure.
If you have had your eyebrows previously tattooed and are interested in a cover-up/re-work, you must bring this to my attention and send me photos of your current brows. No guaranteed results for such cases, and must be approved. In some cases where the previous work is too dark, dense, discolored, or too large, tattoo removal will be highly recommended before we begin the cover-up/re-work. Previously tattooed areas and cover-ups will require additional touch-ups for the best results. Microblading is not recommended for people suffering from diabetes, inflammatory skin diseases, skin with broken Capillaries, acne, epilepsy, sick, botox (in the past 2 months), Accutane (in the past year), Chemotherapy (consult your doctor), history of Keloids or Hypertrophic scarring, heart conditions, uncontrolled high blood pressure, moles, keratosis, excessive sebum, oily skin, very dry or peeling skin or have Seborrheic dermatitis in the eyebrow area and people who are not sure if they really want the procedure.
WILL I NEED A TOUCH UP AFTER MY INITIAL APPOINTMENT?
The majority of our clients require 2 sessions to have their cosmetic tattoo perfected. Touch up appointments can be made 6-8 weeks after your first visit. Clients with fuller brows may not need additional touchups; however, clients with little or no natural brow hairs, or have corrected work, may need further density added. After we’ve achieved your desired brow, an annual touchup is highly recommended to maintain the tattoos.
HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO GET TATTOOED?
You must be 18 years or older to receive a tattoo service.
WHAT ARE THE PIGMENTS MADE OF?
The pigments used in cosmetic tattooing come in a variety of colors specially formulated with iron oxide, an ingredient safe for the skin.
WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE MY EYEBROW PROCEDURE?
Please view detailed pre-procedure instructions are listed in the prepare info tab.
WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
Detailed aftercare instructions are listed im the after care info tab. It is highly beneficial to follow these instructions to ensure a comfortable healing process and to achieve the best results. DO NOT rub or pick the healing area as the color will peel off prematurely, and avoid extreme heat and contaminated bodies of water (such as saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms, pools, lakes, and places with hot humidity, etc.).
WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT LONG TERM CARE?
A good sunscreen should be applied daily AFTER healing and is required to help keep color true. As with any tattoo, sun exposure will make the color soften faster. The pigment used is iron-oxide based. Your body absorbs it as mineral irons, so the color will lighten over time. You may need a touch-up every 1-2 years. The fading speed depends on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, pigment color used, broken capillaries, iron deficiency, and if any chemical peels were done after your procedure. If you are planning a chemical peel, MRI or other medical procedure, please inform the technician that you have had an iron-oxide cosmetic tattoo. Careful application must be taken to avoid affecting the tattooed area. If you are planning to have laser treatments, tell your laser specialist to avoid the pigmented area. Laser may cause pigment to turn black.
IS THE EQUIPMENT SAFE?
Only single use, disposable needles and supplies are used. This means that each set-up for each new client is discarded safely afterwards. Each of our stations is thoroughly disinfected before opening and after each procedure throughout the day.
DO I NEED A CONSULTATION IN ADVANCE?
No. I'm happy to talk with you on the phone or chat via email, social media. If you want to send me pictures of yourself, I'm happy to talk to you in advance about what I recommend for you at no charge. If you really feel you need a consultation in advance, I will do that at no charge as well. However, normally, clients book the procedure time and I do the consultation at the time of the procedure. The only reason to do a consultation in advance is if you're not sure you want me to do the work, and you won't feel comfortable unless we meet first, or if you're not sure you want to do the work at all. I've tried to put enough information on this website that you can get all your questions answered in advance, and we won't have to spend unnecessary time in a separate consultation session.
WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
Cash (preferred), Venmo, Cash app, Zelle, and all major Credit cards. Note for Credit cards a processing fee applies.
